I was responsible for envisioning all adaptations to UI & UX, to ensure the game would be fully playable on the Mobile platforms, which boiled down to a complete redesign of all mayor screens within the game.
Human Fall Flat has quite an original control scheme originally, where players choose to activate one or both arms to reach out an grab in the camera direction. For touch devices, this would need a significant overhaul, which I was tasked with. By decoupling the arms from the camera, and binding them to a new 2D matrix control, players gained the ability intuitively and accuratly control both arms, while the camera could be controlled separatly. Later in development, we also managed to get an additional control scheme in, where players can use the touch screen directly to drag arms in the desired direction.
